What is web hosting?

Shared web hosting.

There are various types of web hosting. Shared hosting is the most popular type of hosting. Shared hosting also commonly known as "virtual hosting" is a package of services which includes web page hosting, email hosting, database hosting (usually mysql), as well as domain DNS zone maintenance. Each web page stored in its own folder on the server, to keep it separate from other sites. This is generally the most budget option for hosting, as many clients share the overall cost of server maintenance, and the physical server resources (CPU time, memory) are divided between all pages on the server.

AlphaHost.lv offers 3 shared hosting packages. The main difference between the packages is a quantity of domains (home pages) which the client can place on the server, as well as the volume of disc space available on server.

For more detailed information about shared hosting and packages see „Compare Hosting Packages”.

Dedicated Servers.

Renting a dedicated server or virtual dedicated server is a more expensive type of hosting. Within this service a separate server having a specified configuration is rented out to one client and is not shared with any other clients. We ensure the smooth operation of the server and continuous high-speed connection to the Internet. Rental price usually depends on the capacity of the server and its technical characteristics.

AlphaHost.lv offers 4 types of virtual dedicated servers and 2 types of dedicated servers.
