Joomla 3.1 Installation

The data required to install Joomla:

1. FTP server address

2. FTP user login and password

3. MySQL database name

4. MySQL database username and password

1. Your FTP server address you will find in "My Hosting" section.

2. Your FTP user login and password you will find in our hosting control panel. For more details about FTP users management refer to the article "How to create/edit/delete FTP user".

Now that you have all the necessary data to install Joomla on the server you may begin the installation:

1. Download the latest version of Joomla from the site http://www.joomla.org/download.html

2. Unzip it and save the files in a separate folder on your computer.

3. Connect to the FTP server using FTP client program, e.g., FileZilla.

4. Upload all the content from Joomla folder to the FTP server.

5. Open web-browser and enter site address where you are installiing Joomla, t.g., http://www.yourdomain.lv

6. Choose installation language, enter Site Name, Admin Email, Admin username and password at your choise and and click "Next".

7. On the "Database Configuration" page choose Database Type: MySQLi, enter Host Name: localhost, enter your MySQL username, MySQL user password and name of the database. Click "Next".

8. On the next page make sure that your server environment supports Joomla and click "Install" to continue.

9. Delete the "installation" folder from FTP server.

Open your page http://www.yourdomain.lv in web browser.

Open http://www.yourdomain.lv/administrator for Joomla administrator backend.

Your first Joomla site is ready to go live!
